There is a lot more that this utility is capable of. Other niceties include command line use and Powershell integration. In the same vein, you can also take advantage of Wake on LAN to remotely wake/power up multiple machines from a single PC. One nice feature is Remote Desktop which lets you access and control a PC on the same network. The same goes for Traceroute and DNS Lookup. If you need to check for a specific IP or Port, you can do it with the IP and Port Scanners, respectively. The program supports WLAN connections, and you can check the Wi-Fi tab to check all active ones. Refer to the Network Interface section for more in-depth information about things, such as IP addresses, DNS servers, and the like. The Dashboard provides you with an overview of all available network adapters and their current status. It’s not clear yet if Microsoft plans to market this app in other markets than China, but it could become an interesting complement to the Microsoft Defender app the company released earlier this year.NETworkManager features a simple and clean user interface with a sidebar to the left side that contains all the various categories and features that you browse through. The app is also easy to use, and the fact that it’s made by Microsoft probably inspires more trust than third-party apps that do the same thing.

Overall, this new PC Manager app might be interesting for you if you have a low-end PC that makes you worry about performance. Again, you can also change your default browser in the Windows Settings app, but the PC Manager app may actually make that process slightly easier for the average Joe. This may be surprising (or not), but the Health Check menu displays “Reset default browser to Edge” among the list of “Potential issues.” On the Security tab, you’ll also find a “Browser protection” section where you can easily change your default browser, and as you can guess, the app recommends using Microsoft Edge. This tab also lets you manage background processes and startup apps, and there’s also a storage manager feature that replicates existing functionality in the Windows Settings app. The “Boost” button at the top of the Cleanup tab can free up memory on your PC and remove temporary files in one click. The app currently has two different sections, “Cleanup” and “Security.” This new PC Manager App promises a “one click speed boost” by removing temporary files and optimizing background tasks. The app was spotted by the Twitter account Aggiornamenti Lumia earlier today, and it’s available to download from an official Microsoft website in Chinese (via Neowin). Microsoft has quietly launched a new PC Manager app in public beta.
